American Hungarian Educator
Newsletter of the American Hungarian Educators Association

We received information about the American Hungarian Educator - Newsletter of the American Hungarian Educators Association from Eniko Molnar Basa, editor of the Newsletter, on October 26, 2017. The Newsletter is published in Chevy Chase, MD by the American Hungarian Educators Association (AHEA), a non-profit educational organization.

"The AHEA is a professional and scholarly organization devoted to the teaching and dissemination of Hungarian culture, history, folklore, literature, language, fine arts, music and scientific achievements. Through annual conferences and its newsletter, AHEA seeks to provide an opportunity for those interested in Hungarian Studies and Hungarian Heritage to further these interests. The conferences provide a forum for scholarly addresses and an opportunity for discussion groups devoted to topics of special interest." (ahea.net)

The editor informed us that the Newsletter of the Association, which has been published for several decades in print - and from 2003 in electronic form, too -, from 2017 onwards, will only be published online.
The Newsletter "reports on the conference and the annual meeting and carries announcements about books, programs, scholarships and general news." (ahea.net/about-ahea/publications)

The Vasvary Collection holds the Newsletter issues from XIII. no. 1, 1990, to XXXVIII, nos. 1-2 Spring/Summer, 2016, the latter being the last version to be published in print. Our collection has some of the issues dating from 1982 to 1985, otherwise, we have been receiving complete series starting from year 1990, right until the last issue in 2016. PDF versions of the AHEA Newsletter can be found at the website of the AHEA.

We wish all the best for the future endeavours to the Association's members and the editorial staff of the Newsletter.
