Castle Garden (Clinton) today
Located in the Battery Park, the southern tip of Manhattan Island, it is where Kossuth was officially received.

This place was originally a fort, bearing the name of Governor DeWitt Clinton, later renamed Castle Garden was a place of entertainment, and then served as an immigrant processing center until the opening of Ellis Island.
